1. Oh how lovely it was to sleep in this morning, even if I was fighting a stupid dream about losing my passport and wallet to a Métro thief. Before that, I was laughing to the point of tears over running into Henri (JT's brother) as a server in a restaurant. My dreams are so silly. Also, my weight was (maybe) down to 167.3, which even if true (I am concerned the scale needs new batteries), I likely wrecked entirely today.
2. Started hubby's birthday with a breakfast at Egg Basket here in Streamwood. It was good, but the service was so weird--it was like everyone was almost a zombie. Our server had the least personality of any server I've ever had, I swear. I had the chocolate chip French toast, which was very good, though not exactly what I expected, and too big of a serving. I really wish places would do smaller servings and charge less instead. Avery had to hunt the server down to get a refill; when he did come, he had too many things in his hands and accidentally spilled hot coffee on Avery's (thankfully pants-covered) leg! Avery yelled "ow ow ow" very loudly (sans surprise), got veryone looking at us, of course. The manager came rushing out to amend the situation. She apologized and gave us 2/3 off our bill. Thankfully, A's leg was perfectly fine when we checked back at home. Can't say I want to go back there real soon lol.
3. We played a bit more of our Mansions game until Cindy decided she wanted a lesson at 3:30. And at that, she did 2 hours with me!
4. Meanwhile, I came up with a list of possible dinner options. Michael opted for Anyway's, so we went there. I tried the jambalaya pasta, which was good, but needed 'something'. Going to try parmesan on my leftovers, I think that will do the trick. The Sauvignon Blanc (Oyster Bay from NZ) was not to my liking, though. Will never get that again--there nor elsewhere.
5. Back at home, I made the chocolate pistachio martini--subbed the pistachio liqueur for the pistachio simple syrup--and it was fantastic!!! I will so be making more of those!!
