1. Had a bit of trouble sleeping due to temperature and discomfort, then lost my balance once when I got up to pee in the night, nearly fell! 2. Classes went decently today. Big shocker of the day was when a girl in Fr 2 complimented me on my hair! I'm used to Nora in Fr 1 saying I look nice and sometimes others, but Fr 2 never does, this is a first! 3. Had lots of lessons today, kept me busy all day long. Great for $, not so great for getting anything else done. I did still manage to get a load of laundry done, though. 4. My cousin Rick messaged me today asking if I'd be interested in a cruise from HI to Australia next year. I really wanted to say "I don't want to be trapped on a floating pollution vessel for weeks with just the ocean to look at, plus I cringe at the thought of getting norovirus on land, much less at sea", but instead, I just said another truth, that I don't know what my finances nor my time off will be then (this is completely true). Besides...

1. I feel like it should be Friday tomorrow already lol. Guess I'm just beyond burnout stage at this point, ugh. 2. Ms. Dube is nice, but she kinda sucks in comparison to Mr. B for a CC. Partly this is due to not being there the whole year, of course. I just wish they wouldn't steal Mr. B away to the other class. 3. Yesterday I had messaged David from AF to ask if he would having his after Egg Harbor brunch/snack, as he had to cancel last month due to the weather. He replied no, he would be at Egg Harbor, but planned to go to Villa Vernone's 30 year celebration/free buffet. I'd seen this on FB and considered it, but M & A had karate to do, and I figured it would be busy as hell, so originally I'd brushed it off. 4. However, his offer to buy wine and invite others from the EH group made me reconsider. My deciding factor was asking my 7pm client if I could reschedule. They said we could just skip (not a big surprise), so I messaged David that I would be there. 5. ...

1. In the IVSA class (another one down, woohoo!), Aiden, who has been absent the last TWO live sessions, ignored me until the very end of class. I had planned to have him do the oral questions thing with me that he missed last week. Not only did he fail to do that, but also did not do the Wayground, and Mr. Betson didn't help with this at all, either. Le sigh. 13 more to go.  2. Mr. B texted this morning to say he would not be in Fr 2, but would be in Fr 1, and that he'll be out the rest of the week on both b/c they need him for the other class thing. Fr 2 had the PA today, so it was easy. However, Mr. B messaged me after class that Ms. Dube informed him that she caught Mason using Google translate during the speaking portion. No pity, he knows better, 0 for that part for him! 3. Got an instant book same-day lesson that went well in the middle of the day, happy for that! 4. As it was rather decent out (47°F), Avery & I took down the Christmas lights from outside. Still need...

1. Woke up to a text from Mr. B (CC) telling me he is sick and won't be in class today, plus to expect significant absences in Fr 2. Thing is, there were actually more absent in Fr 1--still more than usual in both classes, though. 2. And in Fr 1, my students informed me they were upset to learn that the school has decided they will not continue the French program next year. Many of them were quite upset, too. I felt like I got punched in the gut, sent me reeling. I texted Mr. B about it and he said he was upset, too, doesn't agree with the decision. 3. I couldn't shake the thoughts about what this will do to my next school year. Mind you, this was a new program this year, so it's entirely possible there will be other new ones next year. I have my doubts, though, so instead of doing my prep like I should have, I spent time looking at job postings and venting to Martha (Elevate colleague).  4. Went out at 6pm to deposit my refund from final car payment and pick up choc mi...

1. Once again, did not want to get out of bed, could have slept in far longer. Enjoyed being able to just snuggle with hubby to begin the day :) 2. Lessons at noon and 1 went well, then chatted with mom, then new student at 3. SAT math, and she seemed to not need a massive amount of help. I got stuck on that stupid #25 in the second set, which is just absurd on how they want them to do it. Need to note to self to skip this one going forward (digital 10). 3. Watched Green Day's pre-Super Bowl performance, which was good, but they played it safe, no controversial stuff, likely via directive from NFL. 4. Made a great spread that was ready just in time for halftime show. The porcini mushroom fondue was excellent, would def make that again!! The halftime show was Bad Bunny, an artist I knew nothing of prior, other than the stuff in the news on how it would be all in Spanish (he is Puerto Rican). It was a great show, even if we understood very little of the lyrics. 5. And managed to get ...

1. Dang it, missed a day, ugh. Thing is, I was not feeling my best last night. All day I felt off, even had a nap in the afternoon and still couldn't quite shake it. At 11pm, I went up to my room and just relaxed on the bed, felt like I could have gone to sleep right then, but I stayed awake to wait for Michael and Avery to finish their game. Thankfully, I felt better today. 2. Today started with getting the kitchen in order, including the floor. This would have normally been fast and quick, but we had trouble getting the app to switch over to the new network. 3. I decided to do Michael's "Super Bowl Party without the Super Bowl" for tomorrow lol. Basically, he wants Super Bowl party foods, no need to watch the game. Decided I shall make wings, bacon wrapped asparagus, and try the recipe for three cheese fondue with porcini. 4. For dinner tonight, I made my creamy shrimp pasta recipe, minus the lemon juice, as I was out of lemons and didn't want to run out just fo...

1. Yes, I'm late on this entry, but at least I didn't forget it! I actually remembered right when I was getting in the shower last night, so I wasn't about to come back down and do it then. 2. I'm sure at some point my entries will sound less like a broken record lol, yet I must tell it like it is: I once again spent most of the day prepping. However, I did get a few household chores done :) 3. Been slowly but surely getting the Christmas cards down. I'm only saving the fronts that are unwritten on the back of them, as I at least can send those as "cards" to my classes (should I have any next year). 4. I say that last part in 3 because I got AI eval results today from obs that were done last week, and wouldn't you know, that stupid f-ing tool picked the ONE day out of I swear the entire year in Fr 1 that we had nasty lag problems and the lesson (Elevate's) was absolute crap, too. What pisses me off about it is that it dinged me in nearly every cate...

1. I slept very well, was so great to get 8 full hours! I still could have slept just a bit more, which kind of surprised me. Weight didn't go down, though, since I kinda pigged a little on pizza at dinner. 2. Classes went well, but I discovered the lessons for tomorrow aren't good, so I have spent most of the day on prep, again :( I did do a load of dishes, laundered the new tablecloth for V-day and got it put on table, so it wasn't ALL day in the room. 3. Last night during our shower, Michael & Avery informed me that they had chatted with Judy this evening. She was once again questioning Avery about his schooling, worried about his social life, etc. I wish she would stop this obsession, but I know she won't. What worries me is that she would mouth off about it to someone and either she or they would call in on us. 4. I had already planned to get back on Avery to do school stuff again, but this shitty prep and everything else has eroded all the time I have for anyt...

1. Stayed up a bit too late last night and paid for it today. Had to take an 18 min power-nap in the late afternoon (that I would have loved to have been longer!) 2. First class was fine today, then had issues with the auto-grading in OTUS for the second class, ugh. I also marked an incorrect answer on one of them, and ultimately decided the one listening question (Elevate's, of course) was unfair, so I made it a 'freebie'. 3. As I always do, I dreaded doing the AF language workshop. I'm so glad I switched it to being just every 2 months instead. It was great to have Karen help with the breakout rooms, but I think Phyllis felt like her toes were getting stepped on. Have figured out that she (P) really does not like anyone taking over stuff that she handles. It all went well, but I still don't enjoy the prep and stress it causes me. 4. Just about got prep done for tomorrow, yay! 5. Had Domino's pizza for diner, as I do not like to do much of anything after the wo...

1. Another IVSA day done, just 14 more to go. Funny enough, didn't even get to the 3rd thing I prepped for today. Happy to be overprepped instead of under, that is certain! 2. Experiment: used mainly the lesson from Elevate to introduce the p.c. with ĂȘtre, despite the little voice in back of head saying it was too much at once. Result: I should have listened to the voice, and now have to prep a lesson that hopefully does a better scaffolding job. 3. Managed to get the dining room tree all put away in the box, ready to take downstairs. Now to find time to re-org the Christmas area so I can bring more stuff down. 4. Had pasta for dinner, as I was quite busy with lessons this evening. 5. Watched part of "Groundhog Day" during dinner; going to finish my lesson prep, then finish the movie after :)

1. Have decided this is where my 'new year' begins, as January was a bit of a trainwreck overall. 2. New student lesson went well at noon, followed by one with Cindy (also went well). 3. Had an hour stolen from me due to an error that was my, Phyllis', and Deb's faults, grr. I looked at the wrong line when putting in the date for one of the events in the 'nouvelles', Deb didn't catch it when proofreading for me, and Phyllis had not sent all the info that the organizer wanted in it. Phyllis then spent 18 minutes on the phone with me hem-hawing about if we should use the link the organizer sent her or the org's website (the one I chose), and finally went with my choice, oof. 4. Despite #3, I got my IVSA prep done before dinner!!! 5. Had the leftover poutine wrap for dinner--was not nearly as good as when it's fresh. I think next time I make this (if I can remember to...), going to cut back the Worch. sauce--comes through a bit too strong. Hubby had the...
